Here is an MTH 30-1114-1 T&P 4-8-2 L-3 Mohawk Steam Locomotive w/ PS-1.0 #907. Features include a precision flywheel equipped motor, all metal wheels and gears, DCRU electronic Reverse by QSI, an Electronic Whistle, die-cast intricately detailed body, operating die-cast coupler, Proto-Smoke system, die-cast tender coal load, detailed cab interior and operating headlight. It is optionally equipped with ProtoSound, Squeaking Brakes and Passenger Sounds. It operates on O-27 Track.
This locomotive does not include DCS (Digital Command System) features because it has ProtoSound 1.0. Only locomotives with ProtoSound 2.0 and ProtoSound 3.0 include DCS functions.
Drawing its roots from South Africa and first introduced in the early 19th century, the 4-8-2 or also commonly referred to as the "Mountain" type made waves when it first hit rail-ways thanks to a re-designed truck system that granted these powerful locomotives excellent stability when traversing at high speeds with passenger cars. Their practicality and reliability would not go unnoticed and the 4-8-2 quickly founds itself commissioned to rail-yards across the world. The 4-8-2 has since moved on from rail-yards and now several models can be found in various museums throughout the United States.
