Features include a high performance Pittman Motor, precision ball bearing equipped gear box, operating Proto-Smoke system, operating marker lights, firebox glow and tender backup light, die-cast metal trucks, chassis, remote controlled Proto-coupler, metal wheels and axles.
This locomotive does not include DCS (Digital Command System) features because it has ProtoSound 1.0. Only locomotives with ProtoSound 2.0 and ProtoSound 3.0 include DCS functions.
Introduced in its prototype form in the late 19th century, the 4-6-2 would take the world by storm at the turn of the 20th century, being seen as one of the biggest innovation in the history of locomotives -- the 4-6-2 would quickly finds its place in rail-yards across the world.
