Here is a MTH 20-3023-1 O Gauge West Virginia Pulp & Paper Shay Steam Locomotive & Tender with ProtoSounds 1.0 #12. This unique engine is a model of the geared steam locomotives used by logging locomotives. The pistons are connected to a long drive shaft that is geared to the wheels. They were made this way to be able to run on the uneven track used by logging railroads. This engine features all metal construction, ProtoSounds 1.0, smoke, headlight, and fantastic detail.

This locomotive does not include DCS (Digital Command System) features because it has ProtoSound 1.0. Only locomotives with ProtoSound 2.0 and ProtoSound 3.0 include DCS functions.

These items have been graded per TCA standards C-8: Like New. These items appear to have been run sparingly, and display overall signs of very light previous use. The original paint is in great shape, and each unit displays a like-new overall finish. This locomotive does not include DCS (Digital Command System) features because it has ProtoSound 1.0. Only locomotives with ProtoSound 2.0 and ProtoSound 3.0 include DCS functions. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is included.
