This is a Lionel 665 Vintage O 4-6-4 Steam Locomotive w/ Smoke Chamber from 1954-66 w/ 2671W Tender. Features include a die-cast boiler shell, an open frame motor, magnatraction, a 3-position reverse unit, an operating headlight, an operating smoke unit, a decorative bell, metal side rods, and metal wheels and axles. This engine was used in several O Gauge sets in the 1950s and 60s.
Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world!
This item has been graded per TCA standards C-5: Good based on visual appearance. The locomotive has small scratches and paint chips on various sections of the shell and chassis. The switch has rusted, as well as, the trucks, axles, wheels, pickups, side rods, and coupler. The tender has small paint chips, scratches, and rust on various sections of the shell and chassis.
