Lionel 646 Vintage O Custom B&O 4-6-4 Die-Cast Steam Locomotive & Tender #4579

This is a from Lionel 646 Vintage O Custom B&O 4-6-4 Die-Cast Steam Locomotive & Tender #4579 1956-58. The locomotive features die-cast metal construction, a decorative bell, a motor, a reverse unit, an operating headlight, an operating smoke unit, metal side rods, metal wheels, and exquisite detail. The tender features a whistle, die-cast trucks, knuckle coupler, and metal wheels.

Known as the Baltic in Europe and the Hudson in North America, the 4-6-4 was introduced in the early 20th century finding success in hauling freight and as a shunting model. Their use would initially find great success on North American railways before eventually becoming mainstays in rail-yards around the world!

This item has been graded per TCA standards (Restored/Repainted) R-2: Fair based on visual appearance. The previous owner has removed the tender's circuit board. The tender's coupler spring does not open up. The light is dim during operation. The locomotive and tender show scratches and spots of paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. The locomotive and tender show rust throughout various sections of the chassis and trucks. This item has been inspected by our repair shop.
