Lionel 6342 VIntage O New York Central Culvert Car VG

This is a Lionel 6342 New York Central Culvert Car from 1956. The 6342 New York Central (NYC) Culvert Gondola was introduced in 1956. It is basically a standard 6562 gondola with a metal platform mounted to the inside of the car. The metal platform allows the car to function with the 342 and 345 Culvert Loader and Unloader accessories. The 6342 was included with each accessory as well as being available for separate sale. A separate sale box is extremely difficult to locate for this freight car. This culvert car features plastic trucks, die-cast metal operating knuckle couplers and metal wheels and axles.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. This item is missing it's brake wheel. One of the knuckle couplers is missing pieces. The wheels show average run-time. This car shows scratches and paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. This car shows rust on the chassis and trucks.
