Lionel 225E Vintage O 2-6-2 Die-Cast Steam Locomotive VG

Here is a Lionel 225E Vintage O 2-6-2 Die-Cast Steam Locomotive. The 225E was a mainstay of Lionel‘s line in the late 1930s and early 40s. One of the first of Lionel‘s die cast steamers, the 225E mold was used to make the 675/2025 steam engines of the Postwar era. This locomotive features a motor, reverse unit and has an illuminated interior.

Brought onto the scene in the late 19th century and continuing use into the early 20th century, the 2-6-2 was a durable little model with some even surviving through the first World War seeing continued use in smaller capacities. These models were used for a variety of purposes from hauling coal loads to pulling smaller passenger cars. The North American model soon became known as the "Prairie" model and would quickly become a favorite in rail-yards around the world!

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. This item did not run when tested. It makes noise when power is put to it but does not go forward or reverse.
