Here is a Lionel 1668 Vintage O 2-6-2 LL Black Torpedo Steam Locomotive from 1937-41. The locomotive features metal construction, a motor, a reverse unit, an operating headlight, a smoke stack, metal side rods, metal wheels and exquisite detail.
Brought onto the scene in the late 19th century and continuing use into the early 20th century, the 2-6-2 was a durable little model with some even surviving through the first World War seeing continued use in smaller capacities. These models were used for a variety of purposes from hauling coal loads to pulling smaller passenger cars. The North American model soon became known as the "Prairie" model and would quickly become a favorite in rail-yards around the world!
