American Flyer 718 Vintage S New Haven Red Operating Mail Pickup Car VG

Here is an American Flyer 718 Vintage S New Haven Red Operating Mail Pickup Car from 1946-54. This is designed to be used with a mail pickup arm that is fastened along the side of the track and a plastic mailbag. When the car comes along next to the pickup arm, the arm inside the car comes out and picks the mailbag off of the stationary mail arm. Features include plastic construction, tin-plate trucks with metal journals, knuckle couplers and metal or plastic wheels.

This item has been graded per TCA standards C-6: Very Good based on visual appearance. This car shows scratches and paint loss throughout various sections of the shell and chassis. There is also rust on the metal arm, inner cavity, chassis, wheels and trucks. One of the doors is missing its window panels. The instruction manual is not included. The original box is not included.
